Summer is almost over and school is back in session. This normally signifies a time for parents to also consider going back to “polish” your technical skills, start a new career, or simply search for employment opportunities. Whatever the motivation, the Middle Rio Grande Workforce Solutions is here to help guide you on your professional journey. We are working on improving the Job Readiness workshops with a renewed focus on life skills, soft skills, and critical thinking skills. We all know that “life happens”. When these moments occur, one must have a plan “A”, plan “B”, and even a plan “C” to deploy. These workshops offer job seekers solutions to issues so that help in successfully retain employment. The Workforce Solutions of the Middle Rio Grande has been busy installing Virtual Access Systems to selected rural communities. Through this portal, citizens can obtain labor market information and job referrals to finding that job you have been looking for. Residents will be able to register for work and use the technology accessing more intensive services and case management from workforce staff at the nearest Workforce Center. A Job Club session through video conferencing is held every Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Information for training and education needed to find that perfect job is also made available for those eligible under the Texas Workforce Commission funds allocated to the Workforce Board. Employers may also post a job through any of these Virtual Access Systems. Happy Job Hunting!
